The pretty, slate-roofed Stackpole

Inn was created from the village

post office and 18th-century

cottages. It has won various

awards for its food. There are

daily local fish dishes such as

haddock, mackerel, seabass and

sea bream. Hearty dishes include

Lamb Cawl (a Welsh stew), Pan

fried Fillet of Salmon with a

Chorizo, Tomato and Cannellini

Bean Cassoulet and Sausages

served with Cider Gravy and

Parsley Mash. There’s a variety

of steaks on the menu, as well as

desserts including Coconut Panna

Cotta with Marinated Pineapple

and a Coconut Cookie and

Belgian Chocolate and Orange

Brownie served with Honeycomb

Ice Cream.

Two of Scotland’s top chefs, Tom Kitchin and Dominic Jack, have

joined forces to create menus of fresh, home-cooked dishes using

seasonal, local produce. Fish & Chips, Fish Pie and Sunday Roast are

served alongside classics such as Sheep’s Heid Scotch Broth;

traditional Cottage Pie; Chicken Liver Parfait and Eton Mess. More

adventurous dishes include Roe Deer Terrine and Rhubarb, Roast

Bone Marrow, Ox Tongue and Mushroom, and Octopus Carpaccio,

Mussels and Chilli Dressing.

This award-winning community pub has a focus

on Lancashire’s food heritage. Alongside pub

classics and local dishes, you’ll find Seared Tuna

‘Tatki’ with Black Sesame Seeds and Pineapple

Salsa, Slow Braised Shoulder and Grilled Chop of

Forest of Bowland Hogget, and Aubergine,

Truffled Celeriac and Thyme Lasagne. Finish with

Burnt Passion Fruit Custard with Meringue, Mint

and Lime.
