This whitewashed pub has a traditional feel, with wood

panelling, window seats and an oak bar. Black ceiling beams

add to its sense of history, along with two large fireplaces

with wood-burning stoves. Local produce is used to create

pub classics, such as Sausages and Mash, Cod and Chips,

pies and Grilled Rump Steak. For the more adventurous, the

menu includes starters such as Goat’s Cheese Panna Cotta

with Roasted Thyme, Peach, Candied Walnuts, Honey and

Truffle Dressing, and Wild Sea Trout cured in Wicked Wolf

Gin with Grapefruit. Follow it up with Steak and Kidney and

Bevy Ale Suet Pudding or Spiced Rump of Exmoor Lamb.

Desserts include White Chocolate Cheesecake with Peanut

Butter Ice Cream and Peanut Brittle. Yum.

Hare. It’s run by celebrity chefs

and brothers, Chris and James

Tanner, who have appeared

regularly on TV. The award-

winning pub looks just as good

on the outside as it does inside,
